- Wedding: December 2010
At least once a week (usually more often) I get a PM like this: “I LOVE the wrap/guard on your solitaire…this is just what I want, can I please ask where you got it?Hi there! I was just wondering if you would mind sharing where you got your wrap? It’s beautiful!” I love all the attention this wrap gets 🙂 I know that my ring combo isn’t for everyone, but because so many ask I figured I would give an extended canned response that I give to every bee that asks…
One day Darling Husband and I were shopping at an outlet mall close to our home. It was quite a few months before the wedding but Darling Husband had some very particular ideas about his own ring, so we were always casually looking. I heard him call me from one end of the store and I walked over. He looked at me smiling and said that he had found something for me. I had been contemplating a wrap with colored stones. The sales lady walked over and Darling Husband asked to see a very special wrap in the case. She replied back that this wrap had been custom made and had been half paid for, but was abandoned over a year ago, because a yong ladies wedding had been cancelled. She then stated that my e-ring probably would not fit, because it had been made for a very thin band. It was on clearance because of this reason. This is where I knew we had hit the jackpot, the one thing that I hadn’t liked about my e-ring was how dainty the band was. Everything does happen for a reason, because that puppy slid right in like they were made for eachother. The sales lady also mentioned multiple time that the wrap was meant for a round diamond, but I loved the unique quality the 2 rings had together. I started to cry when I slid them on my finger. This was bigger than finding my dress for me. I had been very attracted to halo rings, but Darling Husband and I never discussed it really, because our engagement was truly a surprise.
Many girls also ask for it’s stats. This wrap really steps up my ring. The center on my e-ring is .82carats. The side stones on the e-ring total .75. The wraps total weight is 1.86. (I finally got up of the couch and grabbed the paperwork to clarify my answers, so if they differ from before these one’s are accurate) My e-ring was from blue nile and is high quality it cost $3800, the wrap was priced at $3200, but we got it for $1100 on clearance!! So there’s the story. I gained an amazing ring from someone elses custom idea that then fell through. Now here’s the ring porn…
On this one too you can see that the top part of the wrap halo is totally covered in pave diamonds. Sometimes I think it’s a waste because only I can see it but in the sun its incredible, if I do say so myself.
