Bringing this back to life…

I’m wondering what people have set as their calorie goals for the day.  I get so damn discouraged when I go over, but it’s not a lot!  I’m 5’5″ CW: 140 GW: 125 workout 5 days a week and it’s set at 1450.  Is that high/low/average?  I set that myself b/c it had me at 1200!  That’s starvation!!

BurlapnLace:  I have a pretty similar height/weight and my goal is close to yours and my calorie limit for the day is 1,200 also. Honestly, when I was going over that the scale did not move. I eat more because I work out almost daily, but still sometimes eat about 1,200 calories and don’t feel really deprived. Maybe I’m counting incorrectly, though?  Lol, who knows. I’ve lost about 5 lbs at this point total, not more than 1 a week, which seems fine to me 🙂

BurlapnLace:  I have mine set to 1500 and it’s been working well for me! I wouldn’t be worried about going over once in a while, we all do it! MFP set mine up to be 1200 a day too, but I was legit starving trying to stay around that number. I was losing weight (slowly), but as soon as I bumped up my calorie intake I found that I was losing it much faster. Just make sure you’re eating the right things! I am more concerned about the type of food I’m eating vs the calorie count.

It tends to set you at 1200 if you a. select 2lb per week as your target weight loss and/or b. set your activity level as sedentary. If you’re not ill on the couch, you’re at least lightly active. If you work out 5 days a week and eat back the calories (which you should) then you won’t be eating 1200 calories a day.

I’m 5’5″, 62kg (137lbish), eat an average of 2500 calories a day working out 4 times a week (although I’m not trying to lose weight any more). I lost weight on 1900-2000.

Calories: 1500/day <br />Height: 5’6″<br /><br />Starting weight on 3/29/14 (went to doctor): 196 lbs<br /><br />Current weight: 188 lbs
