Hi Bees! As some of you know, Priscilla of Boston just went out of business. Before closing their shops, they clearanced out all of their dresses. I bought a dress from Priscilla, which the sales girls said they found in a box tucked away in the back two days before I came in to the shop. They didn’t know anything about the dress, what collection it belonged to, or where it came from. They suspected it was a Platinum for Priscilla dress originally worn on the runway. I’m not sure if it ever went into production. Does this dress look familiar to anyone? The dress has “PL152” written inside of it. It doesnt have any other labels or markings. After a lot of searching, I finally found a picture of it online, and here it is:
I’m hoping to figure out a little bit of the history of the dress, including what year it was even made. The dress looks exactly like the picture above, and I’m kind of thinking my dress might actually BE the exact same one in the picture. Any ideas???

I actually did the same thing! I bought a dress that was a production sample that they hadn’t actually made yet. At the end of last year, the warehouse would just randomly send dresses and/or the shops would just sell every single dress they had. This is what the consultant told me. It looks like yours might have been the runway sample and either they never ended producing it or maybe it would have been a special order. Either way, it appears to be one of a kind! Hope this helps!

Found a picture of the back of it too…
Looks like it was part of the Spring 2007 bridal runway show. Since it was 2007 though, that was almost 4 years before they closed… Any ideas why this wouldn’t have gone into production?
Whatever the back story, it’s kind of exciting 🙂

@call.me.red: That makes a lot of sense. That’s probably exactly how the shop I went to got the dress. Sounds like your dress is a one-of-a-kind too!! Congrats on finding it! 🙂
