I just wanted to get you up to speed on how the RSVP function works in your mywedding.com free wedding website.
When you create and post an RSVP “event” on your website, your guests will be able to access, fill out, and submit an RSVP form – just like they would with a paper invitation. There is no need to post an event entry for each of your guests; it’s just one simple form for your guests to fill and submit. They can access the form by clicking on the event entry posted on your site.
When that form is submitted, their information is automatically added to your RSVP guest list in your account. The information includes their name, email address, guest party names (subject to any limit you set), the date of submission, meal preferences (if you have posted options), and any comments they send along with their RSVP.
You can access the guest list in your account to review and manage it. Please note that only you can see the list; it is not posted anywhere on your website.
Here are the quick steps for getting started with the RSVP feature:
Log into your MyWedding account and click “Free Websites” and then click the “RSVP” page link.
Next, scroll down and click “+ Add event”. Then, enter the event information in the provided fields. In this section you may also create meal preference options, limit the number of attending guests per respondent, as well as view RSVP responses. Make sure you click “Save” once you have completed the event entry.
Now, your guests can begin submitting their RSVP forms for the event. You may add multiple events if you desire.
Finally, to manage your RSVP guest list in your account, click “Manage responses” in the event entry.
In the page that opens, you will see two lists – one for “attending” on one for “not attending”. The “attending” list will contain all of the information I mentioned above. From here, you can review the submissions as well as remove any you do not want.
To specifically address your question regarding having a pre-populated guest list from which your guests can simply click on their names to submit their RSVP: This is a popular request and is high on our list of suggestions for potential future improvements.
I hope this helps! Please feel free to let me know if I may be of further assistance. I’m always happy to help! You can contact me at [email protected].
