Arg! Just a quick vent. I am now 46 days out from the big day and I cannot get my arms to be any more toned. I’ve been doing arm exercises for about 3 weeks now and though I know it’ll take time to see definitive results, I don’t think it’s hitting the right areas. My arms are great, I feel much stronger and well defined up top, but underneath are just batwings, sexily flapping in the wind.
Does anyone know any good excercises that hit the arm fat area? I feel like I’m helping with the muscles, but that’s just excess fat, how do you get rid of that area if you can’t flex and strengthen?

Are you doing tricep exercises? I would look into those.
To tone my arms I started doing pushups and it made a world of difference. I went from not loving my arms to being super happy with them. I started out by doing the routine on http://www.onehundredpushups.com. It helps you start out if you’re not accustomed to doing pushups. After a while I think the routine moves a little too fast so I am behind where I should be (by a few weeks!) but it still made my arms super toned.

@adoc86: You know, I overheard someone talking about this but I had no idea what to search for and couldn’t find it. I’ll check it out.
I am doing tricep exercises. I’m doing a 10 minute arm workout, 2 days on, 1 off from the all fitness tv app for Roku (it’s a fitness video app, I recommend it!)

I believe that you need to add some more cardio to burn the fat along with the toning exercises you are doing. I have the wings too but i’m in a lazy mode to exercise.
Good luck! You can do it in 46 days!

@MrsFutureG: oh I have Roku! I’ll have to look at that when I get home.
The pushups thing is great, but like I said it moves quick! I am still doing the routine for week 7 and I’ve been doing this for…. almost a year? hahaha

Unfortunately there’s no way to spot reduce fat- you just have to lose weight overall.
That said, triceps dips, triceps extensions (skull-crushers), pushups, and pull-ups will help tone the area. Good luck!

I know its been posted before, but Tracey Anderson has a great arm workout. I’ve been doing it a few times a week and my arms are noticably more toned. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=4dQOBbLnk7o

I love the title of this thread…lol I am also hoping to tone up the arms a bit too before the big day (we are in double digits now EEEEEEEEEE) but I’ve been so lazy this week O_o Chalking it up to my last long marathon run this weekend.

haha i just lol’d at this title. hate my arms too! but seriously whenever i’m not in fat lazy girl mode, push ups are where it’s at. they are great & if you switch up your routine you should see some results! try mixing a new routine in with the one you’re doing now and you should see some results! especially if you switch up any cardio you’re doing!

There was something for this that we did at my old gym that I hated, I think they were called “flys”?
You lie on your back, put two (light!) weights in your hands, and open and close your outstretched arms, like [bat]wings. I suppose you could use water bottles as weights if you need them. 🙂
The other exercise was overhead extensions (with heavier weights), which burn (but that’s a good thing!)
We also did the extentions laying on our backs, which I think was the more effective of the two. I don’t know what that would be called, it’s basically the same move but laying down. I hated them but did see results.

I’ve had great results doing the Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred. You work all parts of the arms/shoulders/back plus lower body and abs. It really helped me tone up and the best part is that it’s only 30 minutes a day and it kicks your booty.
PS- I totally LOL’ed at your title! Good luck! 🙂

@MrsFutureG: Are you upping your weights at all? I found a fantastic workout on FitSugar just for triceps. I’ve posted the link to the video below. I’ve added a few of these to my arm workouts. I’d up my cardio too.
Ps… the title of this thread is Epic. With a capital E.
