rounded square has always been my favorite on myself… it’s the easiest for me to maintain myself.

I’m not into those new pointed nails!

I agree that square gets boring after a while. I liked it when I thought it was ‘the new look’, and different from regular rounds nails. But, now i prefer rounded again. Just looks more natural to me, and less maintenance because the pointy-ness of the square would catch on things or scratch myself. Definitely not the new pointed nails for me either….lol.

I love shellac but took a break because it was making my nails peel a bit. I wear gloves all day at work, wash my hands, hand sanitizer etc — so my nails get chipped pretty easily if I use regular polish. I tend to keep them short & boring most of the time unfortunately! I love pretty nails!

Rounded or oval natural nails — it elongates my fingers and makes them look less Stumpy McStumperson.

I love the look of my nairls in the rounded square shape.  It’s easy for me to maintain and is the best looking shape for my hands.

I can’t stop squaring off my nails for the life of me! A little info my nail lady told me…. Nails don’t break as easy if they’re squared. I would love to go back to the rounded oval shape like grandma loved, but I just can’t seem to do it.

Rounded square for me as well. It suits my hands and nails the best, and also the length i like. Ive never had another shape now i think of it.

i LOVE almond / oval nails. i think they look so elegant! and on me they look alot more natural than the rounded square or ‘squoval’ as my nail tech calls them.

its funny that a PP heard that square nails break less – i heard the opposite, that they break more as the ‘corners’ are more likely to fracture or split due to them taking all the knocks and bumps.

i think we need to get some pics of everyones nails / manicures!! PRETTY NAILS!!!

If I was going for a more fancy look, I’d get acrylics and have them shaped like this

Otherwise, I’d stick with a more natural shaped nail. I wouldn’t necessarily need acrylics to achieve this look though.

Rounded/ovals for me.  Not pointed though.  I like to roughy mirror the shape of my cuticle, as I’ve heard that’s flattering.

Squared off nails have been “the shape to get” for too many years.  I’m definitely sick of them.  But, I feel like rounded have been in since the 2010s and it’s been getting more oval/pointy since then.

I like stiletto nails on other people, but not for me. I keep my nails short (even with the tips of my fingers) and roundish.

leximarti082:  Hahah! Same here! I don’t even think I could get my nails into an oval shape if I tried!

I keep my nails pretty short, and so like the neatness of squaring them off 🙂
