I just keep it clear on my fingernails but my toes are blue with gold stripes- before that they were pink with hot pink glitter on my big toes…. Pinks & purples are my easy go-to colors though

Ive recently found some glue on nails that look really great and natural, so I’ve been trying to get good at DIYing. Saves me a trip to the salon 20 miles away.

Ive always hated not having my nails done though, ring or no ring.

Nails are my forte. My friend actually asked me to bring my “arsenal” by one time. So I don’t think about what color I may be wearing when he pops the question, they’re always painted something. Right now? A wet concrete grey with a silver sparkle topcoat to just give some fun to them.

And I, personally, think it looked freaking awesome:

Hey bees… I’ve never gotten a manicure EVER. I’m thinking about trying to, though, I hope to do it strategically when I have an inkling SO is going to propose so I don’t have to keep getting them. But what’s a good price for a french/american manicure (where it looks natural) but no acrylic nails or anything, just shaping, cuticle care, and the nail painting? How do you know if it’s a good place? I just moved to a new area and so I’m pretty clueless on multiple fronts! Thanks!!

When I was waiting I used Incoco nail applique. When my Hubby proposed my nails looked great. I always get compliments when I wear those. They are easy to put on and take off. Sometimes they have sales.

@love108:  The red manicure I got above was also my very first manicure!!

My advice: BRING A FRIEND WITH YOU! lol

I believe I paid a total of $25 for my mani. It was gelish, I asked them NOT to mess with my cuticles, and I did 1 color.

I think it was a great price.

@LiliKitty:  Thank you!!

Before I got the mani, everyone I asked was like “do a light color that won’t take away from the ring.”

Yeah, I did the total opposite. I like the effect. It’s like “POW! Color! POW! RING!” lol

@love108:  I’d look to Yelp and see reviews people give. Prices can vary depending on your location. If they don’t show the price online, just call them up and ask. I’d suggest asking them push your cuticles back, but not cutting them.

ETA: Usually getting a french tip done costs a few dollars extra, maybe 3-5.

@love108:  I’ve paid from $10-30 for a mani. It depends on where you go. I am going to a upscale spa tomorrow and I am paying about $21 for a basic mani and $40 for a pedi (not the basic pedi). I am treating myself. lol
