longtimemrs :  Thank you for the well wishes! I actually love the unicorns! They are super popular these days and the background color makes its Valentines day friendly! My daughters would love them! Were they also done with a stencil or stamp?

KeeKalena :  Thanks so much! It’s kind of an extra-girly design, which I usually wouldn’t wear. But I had fun doing them. I did them as part of a collaboration for a little girl who has brain cancer and is soon undergoing another round of in-hospital treatment. Her aunt belongs to one of the same nail polish fan groups as me, and she is trying to gather together a collage of manicures for her niece to look at while she is in the hospital. She loves nail polish, but can’t have her nails done during treatment. It’s such a small thing, but hopefully will cheer her up a little bit. I’ve been trying to fit in a few manicures for her.

I ended up liking this design so much that I actually did it on both hands. So I was totally geeking out with my girly self — ha, ha!

I’m loving your early Valentine’s Day manicure! So pretty!!

redearthlady :  You’re so welcome! And thank you for the kind words! I’m usually not one for pink polish, but that particular pink really captured my heart. I couldn’t get enough of it. I wore it in 2 manicures in a row. Which is crazy for me! Ha, ha!

As I mentioned above, the unicorn mani is part of a collaboration for a little girl who is soon undergoing another round of treatment for brain cancer. Her aunt was asking for different manicures so they could make a collage as a way of cheering her up during treatment. I’ve managed to do 3 manicures for the collab so far, although I didn’t post the others because I didn’t have ring pics with them — ha, ha!

The unicorns were done with a stamp. I stamped the image onto my stamper, then filled in the design with different colors. Then I made them into a decal and applied that to my nails. I used the bright pink as a base, and then stamped purple stars on all the nails. I wanted to have some type of “star” background for the unicorns, although they don’t show as much as I thought they would. LOLz

longtimemrs :  I love the manicure! I really need to get one of those stampers and try to do my own nails! Any recommendations? Also I think it’s so awesome that you ate doing the nail collage collab! Maybe you could get in to doing nail tutorial videos! I know I would definately watch!

longtimemrs :  That is the sweetest thing!! I love that there’s such an awesome reason for an awesome nail design.

Thank you so much! I wish I could do stamping again like i used to with all my Konad plates but I just don’t have the time for that anymore. It’s barely enough for me to just paint them LOL. When I used to update my blog, I was so active with stamping!

farahbee :  Oohh I love that! I did something similar in terms of colors but yours looks 10 times better LOL.

I just crop my pictures using the photo editor in my phone. My pictures always show up sideways unless I do that.

von03 :  Beautiful mani. And I love your ring!!

farahbee :  It looks beautiful!

KeeKalena :  Awww, thanks so much! You are always so sweet to me, and your comments always bring a smile. *cyberhugs* I definitely think keeping up my blog and posting on IG encourages me to manicure and nail art more often. But it also helps that I only have one child, and she is mostly self-sufficient (teenage years — eek!).

redearthlady :  Thank you so, so much! Your comments also always bring a smile, no matter how bad of a day I am having. Thank you so much for your kindness. *cyberhugs*

I think, for stamping, the key is trial and error. You have to figure out what works best for you. I have a clear stamper by a company called Pueen. I LOVE this stamper. I have another clear stamper that I actually purchased before my Pueen one, and I don’t like it nearly as much. And my favorite stamping plates are by either Bundle Monster or What’s Up Nails. You can buy either of them on Amazon, although in a limited selection. I don’t have a huge amount of stamping plates, though … so there are definitely lots of brands I haven’t tried yet. I’m pretty sure you can get the Pueen stamper on Amazon, too. But I think Wal-Mart sells a stamping starter kit that comes with the stamper, a plate, and a polish. They used to, anyhow. It could be worth checking on … ??

longtimemrs :  Hopefully by the time my kids get a little older I can get back to nail designs! I seriously miss taking my time and thinking up of designs, etc.

These were done pre-engagement so I had tons of time hahaha!
