That is a beautiful cake! I hate frosting and fondant (gag) so this is a dream cake for me! Too bad I didn’t know about this sooner. You did such a great job on yours.

I went to a wedding recently and they had a naked cake. I wasn’t crazy about the filling but it wasn’t bad. It was a custard I think. However, without frosting you can really taste the cake itself and that was great! I’m not sure if they added extra vanilla to it or not but the cake was yummy!! So despite my saying I wasn’t crazy about the filling, I still enjoyed it.

I showed my fi these cakes. I like buttercream but thought these were so pretty. Well my fiancé nearly had a stroke at the thought! he LOVES icing and has a huge sweet tooth. In response he suggested a reverse cake that was all icing and a thin layer of cake to hold a shape. He’s a goofball πŸ™‚
