If I were having a small, intimate wedding I would go for it.. but my biggest worry would be that the cake would dry out within hours of being set out, even if there are preserves/simple syrup between the layers.

I love this idea, especially for a summer wedding! We would have one but we decided on cupcakes instead.

OP I’m not sure I’m digging the first one you posted but Hilary Duff’s was absolutely gorgeous. I really like it.

Of course it was also sitting on a gorgeous bed of flowers.

I really love them because I’m not a huge fan of frosting and I really dislike fondant.

I wouldn’t personally want one, but I think they’re ok to have. It does give you a nice tempting preview of the yummy fillings… :d I’d probably like to eat one because I don’t like a ton of frosting or fondant to eat, although I do like the fondant look

What??? I have never seen this! I’m in love. Definitely agree about liking Hilary Duff’s over the first picture, but both would be perfectly at home and gorgeous in the right setting/style of wedding.

They look so tastey. But Buddy the Cake Boss won’t like it. There’s no fondant and modeling chocolate!
