Our venue fell through. It was THE PERFECT location too, but it’s just not possible anymore.
We need another location for our elopement. We want to be married outside with beautiful archetecture as well as nature, if possible. We live in Ohio and want to stay on this side of the United States. lol. Someplace where there is also interesting things to see and do.
We are willing to go North, South and further East but we’re not interested in anything West of Ohio.

I’m a little biased, but DC?

@MrsParcell: niagara-on-the-lake, ON, Canada. It’s beautiful, with vineyards all around a picturesque little town. I could picture an elopement in the middle of a vineyard, sun shining down, just the two of you… Ahhh I pretty much died right there!
ETA: just saw you wanted to stay in the US. What about the coast of Maine somewhere? Boston would be amazing too.

My first thought was Savannah, GA. It has gorgeous Old South architecture, beautiful trees, and the ocean. There are even a few islands off the coast with gorgeous inns that could be perfect.

Yes, Maine was a thought. So was Nantucket. I know that I said archetecture and nature, but a city locale is not for us.
I was actually thinking about calling some of the bigger mansions of Newport R.I. to see what they would charge.
I DID find another “caslte”. Actually it’s near our home….only about 2 hours away. It’s not The Biltmore Estate (that was where we were going to do it but they called back with an OUTRAGEOUS fee), but it is pretty and charming in it’s own way. It’s called Chataeu LaRoache. Here it is. What do you all think? The pic is gorgeous! Don’t you agree? I’m so stuck on a fairytale like location and to get married at this one will only cost us $250 dollars!! lol

Oh my! Savannah is on my list! Also Beaufort S.C. is on my list. Ever since the movie The Big Chill, I’ve loved that place. lol. It looks gorgeous today as well.

Anything on the North Shore and Great Lakes? I’m biased and LOVE Duluth and that shore of MN, but there are some lovely places on any of the other lakes in the midwest!

Saint Clements Castle- Portland, Connecticut
OHEKA Castle- Huntington, New York
