Why not put his last as your middle, He can put your last ad his middle?

Hmmm, a suggestion: remove a middle name and have your last and his last (Whichever order).

Is the second option going to be hyphenated or just combined into one?

I replied to your other thread, but in most states, you can legally do either. I initially planned on doing two last names, no hyphen. Then, I worried about the logistics of it all, and decided to do First Middle MaidenMiddle HisLast. Then, I also worried about the logistics of that, since two middle names means more possible ways for my name to be wrong in databases, work, when I buy a home, on IDs, etc. As much as I adore my middle name, I’m dropping it and will be First Maiden Last.

mnb19 :  I get it…my middle name is after my grandmother, who I’m SUPER close with. I was worried about offending her, but she pointed out that I’ll always be a MiddleName. It’s on my birth certificate, and there’s no reason I can’t use it on non-ID things (monograms, emails, social media handles, etc). Also, just to point out, unless you advertise it, nobody will know what your legal middle name is unless you advertise it/show them your ID.

I would do YourLastHisLast. I’ve noticed in my time working at a school with a lot of kids who have two last names that people are more likely to only use the first last name if they aren’t hyphenated.

I have two first, no middle, two last. Let me tell you it going to be all over the place. I have my last name first and -for me – this was the wrong choice when it comes to the order, I added his last name only to be nice to my husband. I don’t want to be addressed as Mrs HisLastName. But people believe it’s okay to just pick and choose and mostly go for the second last name. All financial paperwork is all messed up as things are getting pushed around, I have three versions of my name on one single car (loan). I am very close to changing it all: drop my second first name, change my first name into a US friendly version and drop his name… I am beyond frustrated with that long long long name. Be sure you want to deal with that. (Like I have bank cards with 5 different versions of my name on it – same bank though)
