Does anyone know if there is a time limit on how long you have to change your name, if you opt to do so on your marriage license? I’m planning on changing my name to First Mylast Hislast, however I will be finishing up my extern hours for my Pharmacy Technician license the week after our wedding, and want to be able to get my license right away and be able to start my new (and much better paying) job. If I change my name, I would have to do so right away, and it would mean having my license delayed, since it would mean having to get new paperwork from my school, and potental complications with my background check (since I will have to get fingerprinted/background check with my newly married name- not sure if that will be a problem). My license is good for two years, so I was planning on changing my name right before my license expires, and then reapply under my new name (since you have to completly reapply if you change your name) Could I wait 2 years after getting married to be able to change my name with my marriage license, or would I have to go to court to get a name change done if I waited that long?
