My Fiance and I got married in a small ceremony last month so my ill mother could be there. I had my name changed on our marriage certificate, but haven’t changed any of my cards, IDs, payroll, SScard…nothing. We don’t want anyone to know we are already married before our wedding. My question is…we are going to mexico for our honeymoon in 4 months. I am not going to bother changing my ID and passport before then- is there going to be any issue? All they look at is your passport and ID to see they match your ticket- right?? I purchased my ticket under my maiden name as well. I just wanted to start changing things so I don’t have to deal with it later (SS card, bank account, credit cards, loans, etc) can I change those things without there being any issue when I try to go on my honeymoon?

Your passport HAS to match your ticket. They don’t look at anything else, so you can make any other changes you want.
As far as “id” they won’t look at that….. passport trumps everything. So you can go ahead and change Dr License, social security card, bank cards etc. Just don’t show anyone anything with your married name on it while you are in Mexico.
One note….. with bank cards you may run into an issue if someone wants to see ID, so I would just change everything and then let your hubs pay.

Previous poster is correct. As long as your plane tickets match the name on your passport, you’re good to go!
Until a month ago, I traveled internationally under my maiden name b/c that was what was on my passport (it still had many years before it expired, so I didn’t change that until it was time to renew), despite having been married & w/a legal name change for 5+ years.
It appears that you’ll be flying out of MN. You should be checked straight through from your airport in MN to your destination, so all they’ll check is your passport, not your driver’s license.
