This may be an obvious answer but I’m not sure… the shower invitations my mom and I really like say “honoring the future mrs. ___ _____” Should this then be my first name and his last? My mom suggested that to be perfectly correct it should really be his name. Or should I have the template changed to just say “honoring _____ ______” and use my current name? Is it weird to have my future name on the invitation or is this totally acceptable?

It could be Future Mrs. Firstname Newlastname or Ms. Current Name. Who is coming to your shower? If it’s mostly friends and family from your side, then I would use your current name so they recognize who the shower is honoring.

Its going to be just close friends and family from both sides, and everyone coming knows both of us and would recognize either name.

I’ve always seen it as “The Future Mrs. Smith,” but I think using “the Future Mrs. Jane Smith” sounds fine too.

Bridal Shower Honoring MyFirstName MyCurrentLastName
Bride to be of FI’sFirstName FI’sLastName
ETA: We did it this way so guests would either recognize my last name or his (or both), its kind of the best of both worlds, because you have your current last name there, and your future one.
