why don’t you wait until he is born and see which name suits him better?

Another vote to wait, we had 2 names as well and were undecided until our daughter was born and one just felt right for her.

Sensuna :  They’re both good, solid name choices. My gut reaction was for Oliver, but Wesley isn’t a bad choice (Weston would be my preference for a Wes- name). If you have it narrowed down to two, just wait. Keep playing around with them. Depending on how much time you have left, spend one full week just calling the baby Oliver. The next week, just call the baby Wesley. If you still can’t decipher a front runner, just wait until you see him. I know all newborn babies kind of look alike and whatnot, but I do believe it can help actually seeing the baby.

I agree with PP and keep both names on the table until he’s born. I had 3 names for DD and when I saw her I just knew which name was perfect for her!

I slightly prefer Oliver but I like Wesley too.  Which one sounds better with your last name?  The flow is always important to me.  If your last name is one syllable, I’d say a three syllable first name will generally flow better.

I’m with pickles325. I would totally pick a name based on how it sounds with your last name. Especially since he’s a boy and won’t ever be changing his last name

I like both names so I chose Wesley because Oliver is super popular right now.

I like both! I have a sweet spot for the name Wesley so that wins for me, but I agree with keeping both names in your back pocket until you meet the little man. We had two possible name choices for my son, and before he was born we were both 95% sure that Name #1 was our top pick. But then we met him and it felt like we had put a shoe on the wrong foot, whereas Name #2 felt perfect. And I should mention that it did take us almost our entire hospital stay to make the choice — you should not feel rushed to have a name right away. It’s ok to squint at him for a day or two until either Wesley or Oliver comes into focus 🙂

I much prefer Wesley. I know so many little Olivers and its making me sick of the name!

I like Wesley. But I agree with PPs who suggested waiting and seeing if one just feels more right than the other.

I really like Wesley Owen right now for a boy name (Wesley Oliver isn’t that far off?). I think it highly depends on your last name though.

Wesley is hard to say with a lisp.
