Splurge: Food. The wedding is family only at FI’s parents house with 40 people and they are paying over $4500 for food not including the open bar.

Save: Alterations. I budgeted $300 but was quoted $110. Luckily I only need it hemmed,  no bustles, no getting taken in.

My biggest splurge and biggest save are the same item! Haha!

Invitation boxes: about $7.60 each plus shipping for almost 350 guests…totally not  needed, but I had to have great invites…

HOWEVER…I actually make invitations for a living, so the actual invite, menus, RSVP cards, etc. Are….free!

I’m a major budget bride, but I definitely had a few major splurges.

First off, is my photographer. At the end of the day and after all of the cake is gone, the hairspray is washed out, and I’ve washed off all of my MUA’s beautiful work there will only be a few things that remain. Obviously our relationship and rings, but mainly our pictures. I told Fiance that no question about it, I didn’t want to cut corners on a photographer and having pictures that we would wind up regretting.

Another splurge is definitely my hair and makeup artist. If I’m spending money on a photographer, then dangit I will look AWESOME if it kills my pocketbook!

My dress. I was so deadset on getting a replica dress and not spending a lot of money on something that I was going to be wearing for 4 hours. However, after trying on my Paloma Blanca and the consultant said that they would sell me the sample for 68% off? I couldn’t say no.
