Wow, you want to talk about times I’m glad I’m having my ceremony and reception in small-ish towns…

Ceremony church: free, but we’re giving a donation

Venue/Catering: $200 room fee (setup, tables, linens, china, breakdown, centerpiece basics), $20/head dinner, $14/head basic bar (beer, wine, rail liquor). We’re having about 120 people. The room is part of an old factory complex and includes a glassed-in atrium where the buffet will be, then the buffet is cleared and the dance floor will be in there.

Price was a BIG consideration in choosing not to have our wedding and reception right in the city (even St. Louis gets expensive!) but we’re only 1/2 an hour away and people will still come.

But pricing… hell yeah, Midwest USA.

Our venue for our ceremony and reception is a winery, and it is $7,500 to rent.  That doesn’t inlude anything, though.  Our food, bar, linens, rentals, etc. are $100 per person, so another $15,000.

So interesting to read about how different things are in different areas!

Our venue (pictures here) comes in right under $4000.  It includes everything but the alcohol (we are doing a host bar so we will just settle the tab at the end of the night) and the DJ.  I’m in love with it!
