I had a prescription for BCP that I called to get refilled a couple of weeks ago. However, it was in my maiden name and I forgot to tell them about my new name. Also, I have new health insurance, on my husband’s plan and my name is in my new married name. Will I be unable to get the prescription filled since the names don’t match or can I bring my marriage certificate with me?

Just drop by the pharmacy and give them your new insurance card. Tell them about your name change. It’s an easy fix in the computer. I work in a pharmacy, so it happens ever so often.

Basically what the PP said.
When I changed my name and got on my DH’s insurance, I just dropped by the pharmacy to notify them of the change and get my new insurance info on file. Quick & easy and they didn’t need to see my marriage certificate.

Was i the only person that clicked thinking you wanted to name something after a prescription? Cialis instead of Ciara.

@kerpao: I thought possibly the OP was trying to use someone else’s Rx or give them hers lol Glad to see that’s not the case 🙂
@OP: I’m sure it should be fairly easy to fix, as PP pointed out. Thanks for the reminder though, one more thing to remember to do after the wedding. lol
