I was doing some last minute decor details since were getting closer and closer to the wedding day!! As I was going through what we have I realized my theme is kind of all over the place… you can tell it’s a forest/ nature theme but not really that it’s a Midsummer Nights Dream theme. I have 1 book that will be opened to the play and random old books spread out around the room but they just seem oddly placed with the forest decor if people don’t know what they are there for.
I thought about adding a welcome sign something like (Welcome to Samantha & Taylors Midsummer Nights Dream Wedding) that I will be painting myself and possibly instead of the table numbers I can add names of the characters from the play?
What do you think?
These are the characters (Puck, Oberon, Titania, Lysander, Demetrius, Hermia, Egeus, Helena, Theseus, Hippolyta, Nick Bottom, Peter Quince, Francise Flute, Robin Straveling, Tom Snout, Snug, Philostrate, Peaseblossom, Cobweb, Mote and Mustardseed) but we only have 10 tables and then the head table. We actually have a sweetheart table with 2 side tables attached so it is possible that I could even name those 3 as well to get more of the characters… anyway, thoughts on these ideas, good or not so good? If you like the idea which names should I keep and which should I overlook?

Wonderful idea! I love it!!!
make sure you pick the main characters as not everyone is familiar with the play. 🙂

I think it would be awesome! Of course, we named our tables after zombie movies.

I’d get rid of anything possibly difficult to pronounce, like Egeus. I love the idea! We’re doing tree names. 🙂

I think that’s a great idea! Maybe include a picture of some sort for each character as well. You should have Puck, Oberon, and Titania for SURE (maybe those for the head tables?). Then I’d go with Lysander, Demetrius, Hermia, Helena, Peaseblossom, Mustartseed, Snug, Peter Quince. . . I can’t decide the last two. I love the idea of Nick Bottom, but you probably don’t want people thinking about bottoms at dinner. . .

@shalynnmarie: that’s a good idea… I’ll use the prettier names!
@zippylef: LOVE zombie movies I would have been in heaven at your wedding.
@Roe: that seems like a great idea too!
@Keltaena: I would totally use a picture but I already made the table number frames and they are chalkboards… I can add the names but I’m not sure how to go about adding a photo =(
@lamkky: that’s true. not everyone is nearly as nerdy as I am lol.
@Treejewel19: oh I’ll definitely post as soon as I finish them up!

@julies1949: thanks! I really think people will get the idea of the theme a little more this way!

I think it’s a super cute idea! We are doing a St. Louis Cardinals theme. We met the night they won the series in 2006 and got engaged at Busch when they won the series in 2011, and are both die hard fans. We are going to do players names with their number as the table number! : )
