So, I bought these very usual little place cards that I want to place on the tables, idicating where each guest will be seating.
When I first bought the cards, I thought I would just write the name of each person on the place card. Well, its a disaster. My writing is definitely not good enough and it seemed each name I wrote out wasn’t the same from the one before. So, I typed out the names and cut the printed name out and glued it on the place card. I didn’t like that either.
So, now I’m stucked with these place cards and I would really appreciate it if you bees could give me some ideas or suggestions as to how I can write or type out the name of the guests on these place cards so it will look nice.
Looking forward to reading all your suggestions.

do you know anyone with good handwriting or that does calligraphy? (my Future Mother-In-Law does calligraphy and she will be doing mine)

I don’t really know anyone who does great calligraphy. I think I’ll practice my writing and maybe I can try writing the names out myself.

@Lauraine: Did you try printing them out?

I ended up using a fancy font and printing onto the cards.

I drew a faint line in pencil and off I went, that helped a million, then erased the line afterwards.

How did you manage to print the names directly on the cards. My cards are all little individual cards. I would have to put them in one at a time in the printer and I don’t know if that would work at all.

I printed out names in the font I wanted, cut them out, got a really bright light, placed the name underneath the place card and then traced around it. It came out really well.

Could you get like…a decorative punch or something to make the printed paper look better once it was glued on?

Lovemelovemyhorses Wow. Yes! I think that is a really good idea and I definitely going to try it out. I can’t cut straight if someone paid me too but Fiance is really good at that so he’s going to do that.
Westwood Yup. I did buy a punch that makes a flower. I’m thinking of using it and punch a whole in the place card. But then I’ve got to be careful cuz I’m also putting a little type of sparkler on the card for the meals. For example, a green one for guests who are eating chicken; a red one for those having a type of pasta and another one for another type of pasta. That way the server will know which meal to serve to which guest instead of having the server go around and ask everybody (as though you were in a restaurant) asking what he or she wants. The guests will indicate on their RSVP invitation card what they choose for the meal.
I think I’m going to go right now and find a real nice font to write the names, print them out, place the print under the card and etc etc. So exciting!
Thank you bees for all your suggestions. Truly appreciate it!

Darn. I can’t place the printed name under the top of the place card cuz the card is too thick and I just can’t see anything through it, bright light or not.
So, I printed out the names, cut them and placed them on the place card and used the punch hole that gives a form of a flower. The thing is, up until now, I can’t seem to cut the printed name straight enough to make it look nice on the place card but I know better now. Fi is good at those things and I will ask him to place the sticker on the place card.
Here’s what I got now:
