@AprilJo2011: Oh dear.  Princess has suddenly emerged.  My cat is called Princess purely due to her superior nature lol.  The other two are called Fatty and Tigger.  Princess…..really *groan* how awful.

@Mrs. Spring: Honey as a nurse works well and for some reason.  I think the name would be quite comforting but I would be slightly concerned, initially, if this were my lawyer.  I’m honestly not that shallow as to assume you are only as good as your name – but first impressions and all that.  Clearly your Great Aunt was a very successful woman so it just goes to show you 🙂

So this is kind of funny because I don’t know the song associated with these lyrics, but when I was a kid I read a book where one of the characters mocked a girl named Carolina. In the book they taunted her with song lyrics, “Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina in the morning” and it has stuck in my head ever since!

@skyeatnight:  I think names can make a difference, but I also think some people just own the name and make it fit, despite the circumstances.

I do think I would have just as hard a time (initially) with a lawyer named “Tiffany,” though.  Tiffany always reminds me of the 80’s pop star!

Anytime I hear the name Claire I think of the line from Breakfast Club:

“Claire’s a fat girl’s name.”

Sheldon always makes me think of When Harry Met Sally

“No, you did not have great sex with someone named Sheldon. A Sheldon can do your income taxes, if you need a root canal, Sheldon’s your man… but humpin’ and pumpin’ is not Sheldon’s strong suit. It’s the name. ‘Do it to me Sheldon, you’re an animal Sheldon, ride me big Shel-don.’ Doesn’t work.”

I was named after the Allman Brothers song ” Jessica”

So i think of that and also ” Jessie’s girl” that sweet 80s song as perviously mentioned!

@FreeRangeMom:  I wasn’t going to mention that one, but since you brought it up…

I knew a girl named Caroline in college.  The guys in her dorm would always sing, “Nothing could be finer than to be in Carolina in the mooooorning.  Nothing could be sweeter than her lips around my peter in the mooooorning.”  Poor girl would blush furiously every time (which is why, I’m sure, they continued to do it.)

I definitely think of Jesse’s girl. My friends got married this weekend and his name is Jesse so at their afterparty they played Jesse’s girl. It was really cute!

Also, Layyyla got me on my knees.

@AprilJo2011: I know someone in my area that just named her daughter Princess. I don’t know how the nurse don’t look at them and ask them if they want to reconsider.

@Goldilocks1107: YES! I actually met a Stella a couple of months ago, and it took everything I had not to yell “STTELLLA!” but you will be sure that once my husband and I got into the car we were yelling it. 🙂
