Neither name is outrageous. Honestly, though very few people will know what the meaning of the name is. The meaning may make the name special to you, but the meaning will be lost on much of the world. And the reality for Rayen is that she will go through life with many people not knowing that her name is supposed to be pronounced Rain. She will have to correct people’s pronunciation throughout her life. You gotta decide how big a deal that is to you and to her.

Personally, no. I don’t like Efron or Rayen. Efron I just think of Zac Efron and written out it looks ugly to me. Rayen is a hard no on all fronts.

But if you like them that’s all that matters.

Love Asher. I wouldn’t pick Efron myself but I’m a strong believer in middle names with some meaning as opposed to just fillers.  So for that reason, I think it’s great.

I don’t like Rayen. Raine, Rayne, Raven, Raelynn, Rachel are all great options. I also know a girl just named Rae.

Eta: I wouldn’t consider Rayen overly weird, which was your actual question. Not my style but after an initial mispronounciation, I really wouldn’t think much about it.

Poor Rayen won’t be a little nicknamed girl running around all her life though.  If you like Raine as a name ( the  late Princess  Di’s mother is called that and she sure as hell ain’t no hippy lol )  call her Raine , not Rayen  which is unless you are  of Marpuche origin, is rather obscure plus likely to be confused with a cheap fabric.
