I of course wouldn’t use ex’s names, but there haven’t actually been any I would use anyway.  We have a -son last name (ex. Johnson), so we couldn’t use any names that end in -son.  🙁  I love Harrison and Jackson, but they’re off the table.

Super hero names – Logan, Clark, Kent, etc.

My ex and I talked about using these names for our children (he’s a huge comic book fan).  I still think they ar rad but sicne my ex is still connected to my family I just couldn’t use those names.

Abigail was my favorite girls’ name forever.  A few weeks into dating Darling Husband I found out his niece was named Abigail.  I was really upset but tried to hide it because I knew he woud think I was nuts.  I’m still kind unhappy about it.   I may have mentioned once that if she died then we could name a baby after her…that wasn’t taken well.  I was kidding!  Kinda.

I have a lot of family members whose names I never considered. Now I want Emily but I can’t because my sister took Emma.

@gigglebox:  I had a TERRIBLE roommate named kayleigh and she would “reinvent” ways to spell her name every month. Kaylee, Kaylie, Kali, Kayli, Kaelie, K-lee, you get the picture 🙂

My new surname is actually a Christian name for a guy, so anything that sounds like a surname – Jackson etc is out as then people would think our child got his 2 names mixed up! It also begins with a vowel which often makes names run together in a strange way. (My maiden name did this too)

Jacoby.  Brother-In-Law is named Jacob ..too close!

Mark III.  If we go that route, he will not go by Mark [DH & his dad both do & I don’t really like that], but likely ‘Trey’ or ‘Trace.’

Seraphina.  While I absolutely love it, my name is Stephanie & I think that’s too matchy, especially if we have another Mark [reference above] ..too weird for me haha.
