    Not sure

Yes but then we changed our minds on the name at birth

I honestly think it’s really weird to give a name to a person that it will have its entire life before you meet it. We have some names in mind, but we will wait until we meet our child (in about 10 days) before we settle on one. We’ve been calling him/her Littlefoot as a placeholder.

ETA: on a practical note, you can avoid a lot of mean comments by waiting too because people will freely comment on how much they don’t like the name if the baby is still in your belly because they think it’s still negotiable. People tend to keep their mouths shut about it if the name is on the birth certificate.

I don’t like when people call the baby a name or a nickname before it’s born. Yes I am a big ole funhater. It’s just weird to me. I refer to any child in utero as baby or babies and can’t bring myself to call them anything else except for sometimes in the pregnant Moms check in threads because I feel odd being the only one NOT doing it.

Yes we have named ours and are referring to her by the name. It just happened. I like it actually, makes her more real and in no way will take away from the day she is born.

Ok, I broke this… Sort of. Baby has a first name, but middle names are still up in the air. We’ll choose one when we meet him. However, we don’t call him by that name yet. He’s ‘the baby’ til he’s born.

We have a girl first name picked out, and hubby has used that on occassion to talk to the baby.  We are struggling with boy names, and will pick one out once we have the gender scan if we have too.  We probably will tell close family but still refer to the baby as “baby” until he/she is born.  I’m afraid to get monogramed stuff and have the baby come out and look nothing like that name.

Count me in the naming before birth category: Fiance and I named our first child while we were caught in outrageous traffic one day. 2 hours later, we discovered we could only really on agree on Seth and Amelia! That was before we were even engaged. We don’t plan on TTC for another 3 years at least!

DH and I will do this. We are TTC and already have names picked out. Once we are PG and know if it’s a boy or a girl we’ll use the name.

We are planning on being team green, so we won’t be able to do this… And while it doesn’t bother me when people do, my husband and I are far to indecisive to commit to a name until after the baby is born and we absolutely have to. lol  And I’d like to see the baby first, my friend took two days to get to know her son before she named him, and one blogger took 2 or 3 days just to decide (her husband was nameless for 6 weeks when he was born!).  I know I’ll either be struck with “this is the right name” as soon as I see them, or I’ll hmm and haw about it for days on end. But I’ll definitely need to wait.
