lalexa01 :  my husband’s name is Alex, when we first started dating he said he wanted to name his son Alex AND his daughter Alex. I just laughed at him and knew it wouldn’t be realistic.

Erin and Eric are close and would lead me to mix them up all the time. That being said my mom named her kids three names that start with Ste haha. And she confused our names all the time.

Eric and Erin don’t seem that similar to me. I like I wouldn’t hear one and mistake it for the other. And it’s easy to mess up names even if they don’t sound the same. My husband and his brother have totally different names and still sometimes thier parents switch them on accident, it’s not a big deal you just correct yourself and move on.

I don’t know. It’s probably fine. They’re different enough. And let’s face it, when my mom was yelling at us kids, she just spit out all the names all in row to cover all bases.

To this day, she’ll still mix up names and we’re all out of the house. And our names sound nothing alike, and don’t even start with the same letter.

Same with my aunt/uncle and their kids. Or DH’s sister and her kids. Even his mom still does it with her kids, and the grandkids.

It’s just a parent thing I guess.

lalexa01 :  It’s fine! If you love the name Erin, name her Erin. (and thinking it won’t look good on a Christmas card? honey, you’re really overthinking this. lol)

As for the middle name, pick what you an your Darling Husband like best/means the most. I’ll never understand why people get so hung up on how a middle name sounds with the first name. I literally know nobody who uses their middle name with their first name. I have never had someone introduce themselves with their first and middle name. I don’t even know most people’s middle names unless I ask, which really doesn’t come up.

ETA: I know there are people who do use both names, but it is uncommon, at least in my experience.

I don’t think those names are too similar at all! I also think both middle names sound beautiful afterwards 🙂  Congrats!

Erin and Aaron sound similar but not Erin and Eric. Go for it!😁
