caitlinw22 :  please please please do NOT choose the taffeta or satin. neither of those fabrics is even remotely functionaly as a napkin. a napkin is a pragmatic item – it should be able to be *used* to wipes one’s face/hands. the poly is your best bet of those three after cotton/linen (most restaurant napkins are poly). taffeta and satin are NOT absorbent materials.

Use cotton or Poly…probably poly.

Linen, cotton or polyester, in that order. Taffeta and satin are a joke as napkins. They are not at all absorbent.

I would go for linen or cotton napkins.  And I’d get them in white or the same navy blue as the runners rather than introducing another colour to the tables (unless your decor/centre pieces tie the navy and lilac together)

Cotton or poly anything else isn’t functional.

Napkins are functional, not decorations.  It’s cool if you want to get a functional napkin in a pretty matching color, but as a guest I just need it to wipe my mouth and handle spills.  Plain white linen, cotton, or poly napkins are what I need as a guest – color optional.
