So appreciated the feedback on my first post! Thanks so much for helping narrow it down to two: round solitaire or three stone!
We went back to the jeweler to see a slightly different setting so I’ve included updated photos as well as a picture of the three stone ring I have in mind (they didn’t have a setting with smaller side stones in the shop at the time but that would be my intention).
I love both. Any other bees as indecisive as I am? I’ve told my boyfriend that I’d be so happy with him choosing between the two, that any ring he would propose with would be perfect as it’d be from him. He really wants me to tell him which though haha.
I love the solitaire for its classic simplicity and ability to evolve with you over time. I love the three stone in that (I personally feel) it’s also classic but a bit more unique and while I didn’t know what I wanted before we started looking, I’ve liked this one since then (only maybe 6 months ago).
I’ve changed a lot stylewise in the past few years but at the same time, I love both styles, theyre both classic and I guess I’m thinking about what looks nice on your hand (the shape of your hand, etc.) Is unlikely to change. I hope this makes sense!
I’ll love anything from him but I am wondering – Bees, has anyone thought if they could’ve chosen again that they would have gone for a more simple ring?
The ring I saw online when we first started looking:
Updates from the jeweler. They didn’t have a setting with smaller pear accent stones on hand at the time. [EDITED] I would do a 6 prong ring, it was just being tried on by someone else at the time! (packed store).
Thank you all so much for your help and thoughts!

I have a round, but the round setting that you have picked out looks really square to me, so I voted for the oval. I just think it looks better on your hand! If you did the round with a 6 prong setting, I would probably have chosen that! (That is what I have!)

Sunshine024 : Totally with you! I would’ve gone with a 6 prong, it wasn’t available to try on at the time I took the photo. Love the rounder look! Would love to see your ring! How did you decide on it?

Mine is an ice blue sapphire and I just saw something similar online! I just kind of always knew I wanted round. But I actually looked at ovals first because I didn’t like how a four pronged setting squared off the stone (I have fat fingers!) so once I saw the six prong I just liked it so much better that ovals were completely off the table!

PP, you can always combine the two styles you like and do a 3-stone with pear sidestones and a round brilliant center!
Sunshine024 : your sapphire is gorgeous btw!!

I really like the 3 stone ring, but I’m a little bias since I have one myself. I thought I’d want a solitaire but when the jeweler showed us the 3 stone setting my mind instantly changed. I think the 3 stone looks stunning on your finger!

I vote three stone. To me it looks better on your hand, and I think it’s classic with a unique twist. Also bias, because I’m getting a three stone too. Haha!

Love the three stone! It looks lovely on your hand & hello! finger coverage!
I also chose a three stone so I am slightly bias like a few other bees 🙂

I think the oval looks better on your hand.

Oval 3 stone is beautiful! I personally think 3 stones look so gorgeous when the center stone is more prominent!
