doglovingwife :  I’m afraid of all the things you listed there, lol. I only use regular nail polish, and I only use glitters because I find solid colors show chips too easily and I don’t want to have to redo it every other day.

I had acrylics and SNS done for my wedding, but it was the first and last time I’ll do that! My poor nails took months to recover.

doglovingwife :  well I had the ones you glue on yourself when I was a teenager and they took the top layer of my natural nail with them when I took them off, I figure acrylics are a similar situation when it’s time to remove, only you have to go to a salon and I dislike salons because I have social anxiety. The gel polish I watched a youtuber trying to remove from her nails in a video and it looked near impossible and particular video ended with her saying she’d never use it again. I don’t find glitter too hard to remove as long as I don’t do more than 2 coats, I just hold the cotton swab on my nail for a few seconds to let the remover soak through the polish and then it comes of pretty good. The fact that I only use glitter makes the fact that a few glitters always stay behind irrelevant, it just blends in when I repaint them.

I used to do gel nails but hated getting it off. I’ve recently been using Avon gel look nail polish. It lasts really well. This lot is a week old. So much easier to remove and may nails are much healthier! πŸ™‚

I use the Essie gel top coat and I love it. You just use it on top of a basic polish, but it dries faster and shiny and lasts longer. Best part is it comes off with regular nail polish remover and none of the nail damage with gels!

I stopped getting gel nails when I found out that some salons still use the UV light and I don’t want skin cancer plus the place I liked to go had the light thing that actually felt like it was burning my hand and they didn’t take it seriously. Now I just shape and use glitters for the exact reason a PP stated, you can’t see imperfections in the glitter. Lol.

I did gel for my wedding and I used to go a lot before too for fun.

I used to do gel nails so much that I bought a home kit and did it for years. I got acrylic done in July and my nails and are still recovering, so this is the first polish I’ve had on since! Wet n wild Under my Plum

I did gel for the first time for my wedding – I liked it but it definitely damaged my nails some. I normally do my nails at home, so here’s a picture of a new OPI color (Raisin’ the Bar) I bought today while I was in search for a Halloween-y blood red 😈

Also, I tried Seche Vite fast dry top coat for the first time today and so far. I’m impressed!

I’m wearing Rimmel Salon Pro in White Orchid, with Sinful Colors’ Tinsel Time holographic glitter topper, and have been for the last ten days ☺ Picture might be huge, sorry!
