I need to redo mine but I generally keep them this length. I used to get them done all the time but since having my son I gave up and just paint them myself. I find if I don’t keep some polish on they flake very easily.

I’d love to paint my nails, but with the way I scrub conditioner into my scalp and blow dry my hair, I could not get through the first day without a chip!

This is a gel polish French mani on natural nails. I used to get acrylics, but these look better and sew much more comfortable, too.

Lemonyellow84 :  A bio gel overlay is when a soft gel is applied over your natural nails to protect them and promote growth.

My nail tech applies this every month followed by a bio gel polish and it lasts forever.  My nails never break and my polish NEVER chips.  I just go in every 4 weeks for a re-fill and to change my polish.

The brand my tech uses…Bio Seaweed Gel doesn’t damage or weaken your nails.  It doesn’t contain any formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, BHA or camphor.  And it’s also vegan friendly and cruelty free. smile

And for the sake of the thread, here’s what my nails currently look like..

sexymama118 :  How do you get them so shiny?! Looks great. Do you buff them?

Souzie :  wow thank you! I really love gel but my ails always get damaged by that electric rotary file they use. Does it require a UV lamp? I’m definitely going to find a place that does this. Thanks again 🙂

Lemonyellow84 :  Yes, the gel has to cure under a UV/LED lamp in order to harden.

See if your salon carries Bio Seaweed Gel.  Their Unity polish series don’t require a lamp and can cure in sunlight.  It’s an all-in-one base coat, polish, top coat and strengthener but you still have the option of using the base coat/top coat to make your manicure last even longer.

IIRC…none of the Bio Seaweed gel nail colors require sanding, drilling or priming of any kind.  You can just apply them to your natural nails.

I get short acrylics to look natural. I can only wear nude polish due to my job.
