@FutureMrsBH:  I tried on dress #2 and I really liked it. I felt like it gave me a very tiny waist and supported my D size boobs very well. It is also very very poufy!!! But, Maggie Willow won in the end.

    I really prefer #1 by a mile.

    Reasons:

    1. I like how #1 has more layers of tulle in the skirt instead of a tulle overlay like #2 does. I think the line of the hem on dress #2 is too sharp/hard looking.
    2. I am not sure that #2 even looks like tulle, more like organza? Regardless, I don’t think it is as pretty as #1.
    3. Dress 1 has a wider belt which I feel like balances out the fitted top and the large skirt. IMO, the skinny belt of dress #2 is not substantial enough to break up the line where the bodice meets the skirt.
    4. I dislike the applique on Dress #2, and feel like overall it is a bit dated and plain.

I chose a slightly-drop waist tulle ballgown for my dress. Here are pictures:

What about Maggie’s Isabella? I think it’s sweetheart, tulle with lace, natural waist!

I love #1. If you think its plain you could always add small swavroski crystals in to the applique on the top. 🙂

Mine is partially satin, but it more of a flat satin. It doesn’t have much shine (except the belt) to it or anything.

By the way, I’m tailoring to sweetheart neckline and opting not to wear the sash.  It’s much prettier without it.  I got it in the color shown (buttercup), but it comes in ivory too.

From you Pros and Cons lists, I’m not sure either dress is your dress. I think you should keep looking. It’s great you know what you want, that’s half the battle. I would say to keep looking until the dress you find has all of the criteria you were looking for! And if not all, it won’t matter because you’ll be able to overlook what’s missing.

Posting mine because it meets some of your criteria….(Rivini Paulette)
