If you have anything with leaves or anything live, you can bring in your kiwi green color.

Most things in nature are a mix of colors.

Have you thought of using wheatgrass centerpieces?

I have done these for a few events and they are always a hit. You can add flowers or not as you choose. If you do, the flowers are inserted into floral tubes filled with water, then inserted into the wheatgrass.

Wheatgrass is not expensive and if you really want to economize, you can grow it yourself.

This is an inexpensive idea for a nature themed wedding. Spray paint branches in a high gloss laquer  the color of your choice(or leave them natural) and add little birds that have the colors you want. To elevate it a little you could lay down slabs of wood or barnboard then have the branches on top.

@LadyCheri:You will have to check your local sources. Where I live, you can buy it from people who supply juice bars and healthfood stores. It comes in sheets like sod for the lawn in various sizes. It is easy to cut to the right size for whatever tray you are using.

You can buy the seeds online if you decide to grow it yourself.

My mom sent me a link to flowers from Sam’s Club… super cheap, so I think I might get the “subtle elegance” bouquet pack: for $92, shipping included, you get 8 bouquets of the following assortment in each bouquet:

  • 1 antique green hydrangea
  • 3 green novelty poms
  • 3 White alstroemeria
  • 3 snapdragons
  • 4 Ruscus greens
  • 10 Lily grass greens

I plan to pull them apart and put them into recycled jars and tie a ribbon. You could find a kiwi-green ribbon to tie on each jar! Super cheap and pretty.

our centerpieces have frequently been described as ‘nautrey’ =) and they have multiple shades of green, from the moss, ferns, flowers, & potted greens.  while from our florist, they’re probably not as cost friendly as you’d be looking for ($10/stick, REALLY?? oh well), but you could easily gather items yourself and do something similar for a lot less than what we’re paying. here’s a mockup done on the florist’s bench
