I have tight corkscrew curls, and I find that Joico curl definer creme works really well. It controls my hair but doesn;t make the texture gross and crunchy.

You have beautiful waves! I would just keep on doing what you are doing.

I use the Deva Curl line myself. Athough it’s a bit pricey, so I’ve switched up the shampoo to Alba Coconut.

@Kell-belle: I agree, I feel the same way.  I wish I would’ve found nc.com before my wedding last year.  I’ve been CG since 11/10, almost a year! and my hair continues to improve and is so much healthier now than it ever has been.

My hair is almost identical to yours! If you want to wear it down and leave it curly, I suggest first using a leave-in conditioner on the ends, then using Springing Curls by L’Oreal mousse. It’ll make your curls/waves a little bouncier and it does not give a wet/crunchy look at all. Put a little on your roots and your hair won’t go flat.  I swear by it and have been using it for years. Every once in a while I’ll try a more expensive product and end up giving it away or throwing it out and going back to that L’Oreal mousse.

Another option is to blowdry it (not flat iron it, since using a big round brush will give you more body/bounce), then do medium sized hot rollers. Use lots of ‘flexible hold’ hair spray. After you take the rollers out, you can add some more curls to frame your face using a curling iron.

I’m jealous of your hair! Mine is just straight all the time. <3 You should go natural.

Your hair is beautiful the way it is! I would just go a half up-do or just tie it to the side. If you want to look like yourself…. show off the waves!
