Are you looking for navy, or midnight?  Navy is clearly blue, whereas midnight is “That’s black… Oh wait it’s extremely dark blue.  No it’s black… Or is it?”

Midnight is a traditional colour.

I was just in a wedding where the groom rented a navy tux. He got it at a small place in our hometown. Have you tried smaller places like that, as opposed to big chain stores?

I work at a tuxedo/prom shop outside of Chicago! I would look into stores that carry the tuxedo brand Paul Morrell. Their quality is great, and they offer samples. I believe it is the Navy Allure, very nice jacket and it comes in a few shades of navy/midnight. I would also look at Jims Formal Wear and find a local tuxedo shop that has them. I would avoid Bridal stores who only order out of a catalog, or have a few options. Don’t order from a book. Ask when you call if they have in house inventory, meaning your FI should be able to try on what you want there. If they don’t have it in stock, I know 100% both of these companies will let the shops order in samples, so you can see what it is before you commit to it! We do it all the time for customers, Avoid the big box stores as much as possible.

I know both of those tuxedo companies offer both Midnight and Navy!
