I just realized that if the finals go into the 7th game… it will start right when my wedding does! oh joy!
How have people dealt with guests checking scores, etc. throughout their whole wedding? I’m not looking forward to this.

You’ll be way too busy to notice guests checking their phones for scores. I wouldn’t worry about it!

@Monkey786: Bleh, I live in the South and my wedding is during the height of college football season. LSU vs. Ole Miss plays on our wedding date. My grandpa already informed me that he’s going to have to find a television.
Meh. I don’t care too much. I’m pretty sure he’s joking, and your guests will care more about you than a goofy game that they can find out about on ESPN later.

@Monkey786: My husband is a HUGE Lakers fan…sooo on our wedding night he had the game on in the hotel room. Yep….

@LizLemon: We picked a spring wedding partially because Fiance is a Gator and couldn’t risk having a UF football game during the wedding!

We are huge Heat fans and we are hoping to not have things go to game 7! Miami close out by the end of the week 😉

My cousin got married when there was a big hockey game on, and no joke, all of my guy cousins were in their rooms watching the game. I felt bad for my cousin.

you could be really cute about it….. and give everyone updates!!!! Maybe a younger cousin? Or kid of a family friend who can find out the score and make an announcement!
I know it’s strange, but it’s SUCH a huge deal to some people. I would embrace it under the guise of “if you can’t beat ’em join ’em”

@Eva Peron: I’m hoping this too! I’m not into it at all and don’t really care (FI wants Thunder)… but now that I realized the finals could be during our wedding. GOOO HEAT!!

Well…. the Miami Heat are up 2 – 1, so maybe they can close it out before Game 7. 🙂

Don’t worry about it – at least they’ll still be there. It’s not like they are skipping your wedding to stay home and watch it on TV.

haha. Not a basketball fan, and I don’t think anyone in my family is. Just thought of what would happen if I scheduled my wedding during hunting season or a Packer game…. (arg, I think I might need to check the game schedule!)

I would definitely have fun with it! Have the DJ give score updates throughout the night. If you have a lot of NBA fans, you’ll guests will definitely appreciate it. My wedding is during college football season, and while my team isn’t playing that day, I’m thinking about having scores to other games announced because so many people coming are football fans.

@abbie017: Glad someone knows what I’m talking about 😀
We had to schedule it around a lot of things, including hurricane season, so SEC football seemed like the least of our problems 🙂
