I still have over a year until my wedding but I’m ready to get the ball rolling and would love you ladies’ help . I have a few places that I am interested in and it would be great if you all could tell me anything you know about them or have any suggestions at all. Thank you for all the help in advance!
Does anyone have any experience with Bass Lake in holly springs, nc if so I would love to hear about your wedding there.
If not where are/did you get married, or some places you considered. I am definitely on a budget so I would need to keep it between 3k if food is not included. 5-6k if it is.
Does anyone happen to have any experience with red bridge photography? If so please let me know how it went.
If not I would love to hear about any great photography experiences with photographers offering service in the Raleigh/Duham Area. For $2500 or less
Has anyone worked with Beau Catering, I loved their food at a bridal show I went to and would love to know how their food and service is outside of a show
If you know of some affordable caterers with great food, please inform me.

I’m actually working two weddings with Red Bridge this year (photography by Red Bridge, planning by RedBird, haha!) but they are both in the fall. My suggestion would be to schedule a meeting with them, see if you like their personality, and ask if they could provide you with references.

@nellybee: A family member of mine was married at Bass Lake. It was really nice, it has the space for maybe about 80? And it has indoor/outdoor sections. If you want alcohol, you have to hire off duty Apex police to “work” your event, and the lake is open to the public so you may have non-guests in the area ( but not in the building itself). I know it was less than $1000 to rent.

I considered Bass Lake…if I remember correctly it was $1500-$2000 in order to have beer/liquor (they charged extra). I didn’t amek it to talk to the people or look at the space b/c I visited my venue first and I was sold! I am getting married at Montague Lake off Penny Rd in Raleigh. It’s a private lake with white arched bridge, shelter, dock, etc. And it’s only $400! Yep that’s it!
I met with 2 photographers – Patricia Suzanne and Windy Peak. Windy Peak was nice and their pics were awesome, but Patricia Suzanne won me over by researching my venue before meeting with me and really taking an interest in my wedding.

@redbirdevents: Oh that’s cool, I think I remember seeing you at the bridal show in Raleigh, you had the little notebooks righ? I don’t know if I’ll be needing a coordinator. I have met with them, and I like their personalities, I just wanted to hear from anyone that has actually gotten a chance to work with them, and how it went.
@seabunny: Yes Im going to try to keep the guest list at 80, its a beautiful place, but Im worried about the space, and will people have space to move around especially to dance, they have lots of rules and I want my guests to be comfortable and have food. Do you rember how they did things.
Really I might have to check out that venue, do you know how far in advance they book?

@nellybee: Oh, yeah, I had the notebooks. Cool! I didn’t know we had met in real life! 🙂
