The amount of wedding websites and venues out there are giving me a headache. Has anyone had a mountain wedding in/near Asheville, NC? Ability to stay on property a plus so we can put our dog back for the reception.
Thanks In Advance 🙂

A friend got married at http://www.twickenhamhouse.com in Ashe County which is further out from Asheville then you’d probably like to go. The backdrop was beautiful. They boarded their dogs, so I’m not sure if they’re allowed.

Literally the only place I know near there is Biltmore but not really the aesthetic. Keep looking and don’t get disheartened by the information overload. It’s beautiful there and I’m sure you’ll find something.

I got married at the Mountain Magnolia Inn and honestly it was incredible. The venue comes with a wedding coordinator too, so you can’t beat it. The food is amazing too.
Wedding Chicks did a story on our wedding if you want to get a better idea:
Edit: you can stay onsite and they even allow dogs in the garden house on the property, perfect!

bohemianwedding2019 : What kind of vibe are you going for? How large of a wedding are you planning?
I’m photographing a wedding this fall at the Highland Brewing Company, which is a more contemporary venue (brewery). They’re doing a rooftop ceremony and reception inside, of course you’d have to rent somewhere else to stay but VRBO’s are abundant around Asheville and honestly I think better than a hotel or inn because of the space you get.
Another option is Leatherwood Mountains Resort. It’s about 30-45 min drive from Asheville but it’s awesome. My girlfriends and I take our horses each year, stable them there, and rent a house on the mountain. They have all sorts of houses for rent, the stables at the bottom of the mountain, a restaurant, etc – and they host weddings. The property is peaceful and beautiful! I’ve been dying to shoot a wedding there.
If you’re open to other NC mountain locations I’d suggest checking out the Brown Mountain Beach Resort.
I think unless you branch outside of Asheville or are open to just renting a pet-friendly mountain house that allows events and get married there, you’re going to have a hard time finding a venue that let’s you stay on site AND allows dogs.

It depends on how many people you’ll have! There are lots of VRBOs where you can rent giant houses, but parking could be an issue if you have a lot of people. I think there are also several retreat centers/camps where you can rent cabins.
Laughing Waters is nice! https://hickorynutforest.com/weddings/

This might be out of range for where you wanna go but if we’d done a destination-ish wedding it would’ve been to Pretty Place. https://campgreenville.org/pretty-place/

stressedlady : I’ve never been there in person but it popped up when I was planning a trip to Asheville and DuPont State Forest. Everything’s pretty around there though at least when we went in the fall.
