I would tell my younger self to screw “girl code” and date your toxic “best friend”‘s ex-boyfriend because it turns out 5 years later he’s the man you’re going to marry lol.

I really just wish I had saved more. I spent money as it came in and didn’t think about long term goals and savings. Now I’m almost 30 and every bump in the road sends me reeling and it’s hard to save with the added expenses of a home and car. Luckily I never accumulated debt, but I also see no chance of children in the immediate future because we can’t afford it and have no savings. Finally starting to do some things to fix that; but I just kick myself for how frivolous I was with money in my early 20s

Hereforthecake :  There are a lot of parents who feel the way you feel and so much love to you.

cc33ammy :  i would’ve finished school to get my degree. Not bc I want it, but apparently everyone in society wants me to have it.

i would also tell myself to get out of the relationship I was in a lot quicker. I stuck around hoping and thinking he was the one, when he wasn’t. I wasted time, energy, motivation for school, money, and it also costed me my great mental health.

Five yeers ago me wasn’t too bad – I was just coming up on 30, happily married, and less than a year into my current job (which I usually love).

That said:

 – Don’t put your life on hold for the potential kids (it won’t work)

 – Learn to cook decent eggs (useful life skill I STILL don’t have)

 – Stop eating like you have the metabolism of a high-schooler!

ETA – To clarify, I am still happily married. I realize that sounds like the past as written.
