My son was 6 days late, but I was so comfortable having him in my belly I didn’t wanted him to come out hahaha.. It’ll happen when you least expect it. I was napping on the day of my induction and contractions came out of no where… So he knew he was getting evicted and decided to make his entrance after 3 days of labour.. Stubborn right from the beginning and he still is now at nearly 4 yrs old..

MrsRevolutionize: My son was due December 29 and was born on the 27th at 39.5. I was 2cm dilated and 50% effaced at my 35-week checkup, but didn’t have much progression (I hit 2+cm at my 39-week checkup) until I woke up to my water breaking on the 27th. By the time we got to the hospital, I was 4cm and 80%ish effaced. It doesn’t mean much until show time!

He came at 38+5. I was 5cm dilated at 37+6, but only knew bc my MW checked. Then I had absolutely nothing until my water broke. Then he came in less than 2 hours.

I was 2-3cm dilated and 80% effaced for 3 weeks before being induced at 4pm at 40+1. Baby arrived at 12:03am at 40+2 after 8 hours of labor. She was positioned OP though..my doctor said she would’ve come 2-3 weeks early had she been positioned right!

41+5. Never had any labour symptoms kick in until I was induced. No cramping. No mucous plug. I was only 1cm dilated. And…my contractions pretty much stopped when they took me off the meds to go into my c section.
ETA: he was posterior though. And HUGE.

I went 10 days overdue with my first , after being told at 37 weeks thay baby was fully engaged and that was ‘no way’ I’d get to 38 weeks. Needless to say, that was a long long few weeks!!
At 10 days over I went for a check where they performed a stretch and sweep and told me I was barely one cm dilated. Started mentally prepping for an induction but then started having irregular but fairly strong contractions. My waters broke 6 hours later and I dilated from 2-10cm in 15 minutes. Baby was born less than 3 hours after my waters breaking and the day before I was due to be induced.
its crazy how quickly things can change and start happening!

I haven’t had kids yet. But my Mom always talked about the births of me and my brother.
With me (her first) I was two weeks late, and they had to induce her. With my brother (her second), she went into labour on the night of her predicted due date, and he was born the next morning (so technically one day late).
My niece was born via-emergency c-section at 35 weeks (due to complications)….but don’t worry she is totally fine and a healthy, happy 16 month old.
My friend went into labour on her own at 37 1/2 weeks.
My coworker was induced at 37 weeks out of mercy (she had this rare thing where her body was allergic to the pregnancy hormones and she was COVERED in hives!).
Every woman seems to be different! But if you are really itching to have your baby, speak with your doctor. Like in my coworkers case, her doctor was totally on-board with an elective induction.

I had my son at 39w 4d. The night before I had him, I was at dinner with my family and said “I’m goign to be pregnant forever, there’s 0 sign of anything changing in there.” 8 am the next morning I started contractions. He was born at 5 pm!

Relax! Estimated due date is just an estimate. I found this article really interesting:
My first arrived at 39 weeks, second at 39+1 day. In both cases I didn’t get much warning, so you never know, it might happen sooner than you think! In both cases I had some big projects at home that I had planned to finish before the baby. It made me feel like going overdue would be a good thing!
