The simple pendant or a string of smallish pearls would work perfectly – dress is fabulous on you!

I really love your dress. It is SO beautiful on you! I kinda like the open neck, but if you feel you need to fill that space I think a beautiful simple locket or small pendant would look great and add a touch of peronal flair to the outfit. I also love your earring choice! So elegant!

I think a necklace would look great with your dress, and statement necklaces with wedding gowns are really trendy right now!

Aw. I’m going to be the one person who comes in here and says no to the necklace. There is so much beautiful texture on that gown, and even the bodice and neckline has visual interest. You’re already wearing earrings (which are perfect btw), so personally I feel like I’m already looking at a lot going on and don’t want to take away from the rest of the details.

Sounds like you’re opting for the necklace, though. ;] I repair and make jewelry, so if you do want to shorten it, you’ll have to take a look at the kind of chain it’s on. Most jewelry chains are super easy to shorten with wire cutters and flat-nose pliers. Wouldn’t take more than 5-10 minutes. If not the shop you buy it from, any jeweler should be able to do that for dirt cheap (if not free) because it takes zero effort whatsoever and costs them nothing material-wise.

I think it needs a necklace, and I would definitely go “simple” rather than “statement.” A string of pearls or a pendant on a chain would be perfect.

Do you have any family heirloom pieces (from your family or his) that could work? That would be more meaningful than something you bought at a bridal salon, and you wouldn’t have to worry about whether or not they had the exact piece you were looking for.
