Personally, I think wedding gowns look better with just statement (i.e. bigger than normal daily wear) earrings. I love a simple neckline that lets the dress shine and doesn’t distract from it. Plus, I think since you have beading on top, it definitely doesn’t need it.

ETA I think those earrings are beautiful and would look great with the dress… no necklace necessary!

sawall :  I think a small necklace would be gorgeous, and I would definitely incorporate pearls to the overall look since they scream bridal to me, and there seems to be pearl detailing on your dress.

Bit hard to say since I can’t see the whole neckline. Also, how big are the earrings? And how do you plan to wear your hair?

It looks like there are straps coming up from that dress. Are you going to have straps as well or no? That will influence responses. I think you can do either very small earrings and a statement necklace OR larger earrings with no necklace but straps or not makes a difference.

sawall :  alright! Well, then it definitely looks like you have options 🙂 Personally, I’d probably go with just the earrings since they are a statement of their own. However I could probably have been persuaded by the right statement necklace to go with them as well.

With what you’ve shown so far though, you are going to be abaolutely stunning on your wedding day no matter what jewelry you choose 🙂

You’ll look beautiful with just the earrings as an accent. I’d skip the necklace.

I voted for just earrings, but if you had a very meaningful and small necklace, I think it would be okay too. Congrats, you will be so beautiful!

Have to see more. Can’t tell if it’s too bare or not

I know the more modern trend is to go with a bare neckline, but I’m a little more old school. I very much prefer a necklace, especially with a strapless gown. Tone down the earrings if you think they will compete, but I’d go for smaller earrings and a necklace over large earrings and a bare neck anyday. How big or blingy you want to go with the necklace is personal taste, of course, but anything from delicate to blinged out and statement would work, IMO.

I am a western bride but I married into an Indian family. I wore a wedding dress (not a saree) with a ton of Indian jewelry and I LOVED it! It was something like 11 bangles per arm, and my earrings were so long they brushed my shoulders. And the hair jewelry weigned almost 2 lbs (there was no way I could dance in it!).

Obviously, this is an unconventional “bridal look” and I certainly understand that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. But it made me a big fan of bold jewelry in general. I think any bride can pull of more than she thinks she can.
