My dress has a scoop neckline but I’m changing it to sweetheart.  When it’s scoop it looks like I don’t have any boobs!  I don’t want them hanging out there but I am a woman and I do have nice boobies so I want them to look like they exist!  http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=A3321&page=0&pageSize=36&keywordText=&keywordType=All

That is my dress and I’m getting it altered to be a sweetheart…looks SO much better. I don’t think this picture of it is very pretty either.

My neckline is just like the one on your dress. I am having it changed to a sweetheart neckline. They told me they could cut, or kind of ruche it to make it a sweetheart. I think I going to have them cut it.

@TaurianDoll:  yes my top has beading, not heavy beading, but it does have a lot of beading. It goes under the piece of fabric draped on the top. I was told it could be changed. If they needed to cut into the beading you would think they could sew it back so the beading stays.

I’m thinking of doingthe same thing when I go in for my fitting next month- was just about to start a similar post. I know that when my friend got married she bought a lace dress and originally she was told she could change her neckline to sweetheart but then when teh time came they said there wasn’t enough material to make the change! She was devistated and tried taking it to like 5 seamstresses and no one could help. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!

@alaskin17:  Did you have the alterations done at the place you bought the dress? Yours is EXACTLY what I’m hoping to get for a neckline. I bought my VW White label dress at DB and they are under contract NOT to alter any of the VW designs, so I’d have to have the neckline changed somewhere else which scared me a bit!

@MissGemini:  I bought my dress in Florida and had them send the dress to Alaska so I could all the alterations done here at home. ๐Ÿ™‚ The seamstress seemed very comfortable doing the neckline when I explained what I wanted. She must read minds because it came out just how I envisioned lol.

That’s a bummer that they won’t alter because of a contract! I would call around and find a really great seamstress with lots of experience. The lady I went to has been doing this for over 40 years (shes 70!)

@TaurianDoll:  Thank you!!!  ๐Ÿ™‚

@laurelewrigley:  It is, it’s the caprice.  I’ve never seen a dress like it before ๐Ÿ™‚
