haha, the best mountains i have seen is in New Zealand, but i guess if St.Lucia is too pricey, then NZ is out of the question!  i think Jamaica has lots of cliffs and mountains – in Negril specifically (I think), though i am not sure about actual wedding locations where you could have the view but maybe you could look into it.

I’m also not sure about specific locations and views, but the Dominican Republic was more affordable than a lot of other places in the Caribbean when I went there a few years back.

I’ve been to several Caribbean islands and the one that stands out to me w/ your requirements would be St. Thomas.  Although I didn’t visit the resort, I believe the Mariott Frenchman’s Wharf ( I think that’s the name) is a resort on a bluff overlooking the ocean.  Maybe that would work for you?

Negril, Jamaica has an amazing cliffside hotel called The Caves that is actually built INTO the cliffs overlooking the ocean… check it out!!!  It’s got beautiful views.

Negril does have some beautiful mountains , we honeymooned there but at Couples Swept Away on the beach… check out The Caves resort, no idea what the cost is but its on a cliffside and they do weddings

ALSO – check out bestdestinationweddings.com i saw it on the WB facebook today – seems like a great forum for questions about destination weddings.

Wow, I am in the EXACT same situation.  I ideally wanted to get married in St. Lucia overlooking the Pitons, but found the island too expensive for my guests. And  I’m also scouring for mountainside weddings (I’m in FL so I have plenty of beaches already!)

Through my endless searches, I think I’ve settled on the Virign Islands. Right now I’m considering St. Croix, St. John and Tortola.  All have gorgeous mountains and flights to St. Thomas (you can ferry to St. John or Tortola from there) or St. Croix are fairly reasonable.

Happy searching!

The USVI have some awesome hillside weddings at the Sugar Mills.  We’re getting married on one of the islands, and havent decided if beach or not, but here’s a pic of the Ruins:
