I am having a huge lack of creativity. I am creating invites similar to corgi tales http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/diy-invites-done-ish
My original plan was to have a patterned card stock as the cover, and put our names or a quote or something…but I’ve backed off of this idea, primarily because of time, money, etc.
But now I feel the invites look too plain, I have a graphic going up along the side of them, and they’re on sparkly paper, but when you oepn the envelope, I just feel ike “blah”.
Any ideas of how I can spruce these up? would a belly band be weird since they have the eyelet in the corner? I will try to post pictures later today…

I agree – I can’t really visualize what it looks like with your description..

Here’s the pic of an old mock up. The patterned paper up in the left hand corner is what I had originally planned on, and instead of a safety pin there will be a little silver eyelet. A few other things have changed as well (font, colors, etc.). Thanks!

also – this was some quick cutting, and there will be corner rounding…so it will look prettier than this 🙂

It wouldn’t take that long to do the cover in the patterned cardstock-it is lovely!
If you don’t want to do that, can you drop the text down a line or two and do a simple graphic at the top of the invitation?-like a part of the graphic you are already using? or a simple flourish?
Or. stretch out your existing graphic to the top of the page and shift the text to the right a bit?
