So… you may remember me as the bride who bought Watters “Florence” at the last Running of the Brides under severe mom-induced duress and later decided I could NOT wear it. I don’t feel it’s flattering and generally I have 0 confidence in the dress. For reference, that dress is here:
So tonight, all by myself, I took the commuter rail out of town to a bridal shop that carries Watters & Wtoo and I found the Wtoo Olivia.
I think I am in love.
It has all the drama that I wanted but it also has a defined waist and more poofy skirt, which removes all of my self-esteem issues about the thickness of my waist. Check out this action:
Isn’t it AMAZING? I had a little weebly moment in this dress – I feel like a star of the silver screen or a bohemian princess. 🙂
Now, the question. I was all alone with no mom nor maids to guide me, so I could not pull the trigger. I told them I would call back tomorrow with a Yea or Nay. So I need reassurance from you guys! Is the Olivia as beautiful as I think it is? And does it look bridal enough in the beautiful taupe, or should I go for the ivory, as seen here? (I tend to think it needs the color for the proper effect, but I want to make sure I will still look like a bride).
Thanks, Bees! Living very far from my mother and my bridal party, y’all are like my extended bridesmaids. 🙂

I hit submit before I was done. It’s all there now. 🙂

I love that dress! I agree, it is much more flattering than the first dress. I think you should get it! I think the oatmeal color is gorgeous, but I chose ivory because when else can you wear a white/ivory dress? Either way, gorgeous!!!

It definately is a gorgeous dress 🙂 Pull that trigger dear !! And I voted ivory because you mentionned you wanted to look like a bride and to me it just doesnt look as bridal in oatmeal. And I also just prefer it in ivory ! ehhe But no matter what you decide, its a great dress !! 🙂

That’s a nice dress! Very pretty! ^.^
And if it makes you more comfortable then go for it. It’s your wedding day so you need to choose the things that make you feel the most beautiful and radiant! ♥
PS. I think the oatmeal is best for this dress. Usually I would say no (I’m not a huge fan of the colour) but it allows those lovely little details to come through. They kind of get swamped in the ivory, but the oatmeal gives much more definition to the little flowers and layers.

You look so beautiful in the new dress!! You should definitely buy it

yes yes, do it, do it, dooooo it. olivia is gooorgeous. I am particular to the ivory color, since I’m wearing the ivory color as seen here, but the oatmeal color is gorgeous too. I really dont think you lose the detailing with the ivory color, but honestly, it’s really up to you and how you feel in the dress.

I like both of the dresses!
I think the color depends. Would you rather look like a “bride” or would you rather look like an etheral beauty?

oh. and by the way. you do NOT have a thick waist! and if you do, that Olivia dress hides it very well!

I’m definitely torn colorwise between how I think a bride “should” look and how I like to be a little funky!

Love the dress you look so happy in it. The colour choice is hard, both colurs will look bridal, it will depend on your skin tone and what colour you want your BM’s to wear.
Maybe make another appointment and show your Mum and Maid/Matron of Honor, I’m sure they would like to share this special moment with you. I found my dress when I was with my BM’s and my Mum was sad she missed it, so I made an appointment just for her to see the dress.

Get it in IVORY!!!! Its more elegant looking I think!

This is my dress too so of course I voted to go for it!!!! I ordered it in oatmeal but based on what you have said, and your skin tone, I voted for ivory on you. Either way, I think you found your dress!

It might just be the picture but the detail isn’t as visible in the ivory color. I say go with ivory if the detail is visible otherwise go with oatmeal.
