ok bees. i have looked and looked and need some good ideas for our Out of Town bags. our wedding is in SC but we (and pretty much all of our family/friends) live in NYC.
so – our Out of Town bags are going to be very “southern” but in an effort to make it reflect ‘us’ we wanted to include something kind of new york-y.
i thought of apples (the big apple – i know – how cheesey) but our wedding is in may and we didn’t think they would taste that great. then we thought of “i heart NYC” bumper stickers but thought those would just go right in the trash.
all ideas welcome bees!

Here are some ideas from the wiki!
- A really, really good city map with the subway map over streets.
- Zagat guide (restaurants or nightlife) or copy of Time Out New York
- Starbucks gift card
- Your choice of ethnic or specialty foods. Unique food shops in NYC: Magnolia Bakery, Sweets from Serendipity, Chocolate Bar, Peanut butter co., etc
Another neat idea!

I love the Strand tote bags mentioned in Mr. Bee’s post, and think that something from a local shop/restaurant would be great (esp. if most of your family/friends are from NYC — they don’t need a Statue of Liberty key chain).
What about an “I heart NY” coffee mug with a gift card to Dean & Deluca or Starbucks for a cup of coffee.

What about black & white cookies? Or NY bagels for the next morning? I know I’d love to wake up & know there’s an H&H with my name on it. LOL
Check out NYFirst – they have the coolest stuff. I have one of those vendor greek coffee cups from a roach-coach but it’s ceramic. They’re a little pricey but so cool. http://www.newyorkfirst.com/pages/index.html
There’s always Pearl River too. I love that place – I can spend HOURS in there: http://www.pearlriver.com/v2/index.html

For some reason, I can’t get the picture of the MTA one to show. Here’s the link http://www.nycwebstore.com/detail.aspx?Product_ID=NYN-Subway_Umb
Hi, what do you think about these umbrellas? It’s functional and may be a good conversation starter piece for NY and non NY guests
