@SparkleBee11:  I understand that trees are not animals, but they are living things that have a desire to live. I wouldn’t give them away to people I wasn’t 100% sure would care for them. Seems unnecessary.

@SparkleBee11:  Why don’t you do edible favors that incorporate seeds? Like chocolate covered sunflower seeds or poppyseed cookies or something?

We had favours for our guests ( a teeny tiny cooking pot from the island my DH’s mum comes from with sugared almonds) and we had succulents as our centrepieces. Our guests fought over who got to take them home!!

@SparkleBee11:  If I had to choose, something that goes in the house, but honestly I have my own decoration and I wouldn’t want to have to figure out where to put a new plant. If I had to plant it, forget about it. That would be a huge waste of money.

Instead of the plants could you donate money to have trees planted?  There are a ton of websites that take donations to have trees planted all around the world.  You could give a little tree cookie with note letting your guest know about the tree planting cause.
