Hello fellow Bees!!
I need your bridesmaid dress shopping tips!! I’m going bridesmaid dress shopping for the first time with my maid of honor, and 2 of my bridesmaids. My other 2 bridesmaids live out of state. (5 total) Since we are all so far away, I figured going with national chains like David’s Bridal and Alfred Angelo would be best so they can do to the store, try on the dress, and see what they like and how it looks!
2 of my girls are plus size, and I want to make sure they are comfortable trying on dresses and have a good time. I am also worried about making sure everyone’s voices are heard, without my own opinion and decision being overshadowed.
Tips? Suggestions? I’m open to any and all input!

I think you should have an idea of what you want your girls in before you go. Not the exact dress, but knowing what material (s) you like, the cut and the length are a good place to start. If your girls are different sizes you might want to consider choosing a few different dresses in the same material/length and letting them choose their own. Both Davids and Alfred Angelo have lots of dresses that are almost identical with the exception to the the bust/straps or back, so it is possible to let them have options while not looking drastically different.

I second what PP said- Definitely have a general idea of what you would like going in. I plan on going to somewhere like DB and picking a length, color, and fabric and letting my girls choose whichever they feel the most comfortable in. That way, they all still match, but they can let their personalities show some and ensure they all feel comfortable in their dresses.

Its honestly way easier to do this with just one or two girls then the whole bridal party, so this will probably work out well for you!
Be aware of your bridesmaid varied sizes and that you need a dress that will look good on all of them, but give them specific length/style instructions (ex: all empire and long, but different tops so that they all fit better) If you’re going all different “but similar” dresses, pick one designer.
Just keep them in line! There’s nothing worse than when a bride can’t just make the game time decision (bridesmaids want YOU to be happy) so don’t be afraid to do so 🙂
