Why are your parents getting a say in things the two of you have already planned? I think ‘thanks for the idea, but we already have something planned” would go a long way. I think at tis point you need to sit down with them and calmly explain that you have planning under control and would like to take a break fom talking about the wedding with them. Make your dress the way you like it and make the flower girl dresses as you had planned.

@cuddleBee:  Are they paying for the wedding? If so, I’d say “Thanks, but no thanks,” and do everything yourself. No strings are attached that way. 

When you start planning by yourself, do not involve your parents whatsoever in what those plans are, and who your vendors will be.

Find out who the vendors are, call them, and tell them in writing what you want, and by no means is what your parents requesting to be followed if it deviates too far from your plan.

However, if your parents are paying for everything, you’re stuck.
