- Wedding: October 2011
My fiance and I are paying for the entire wedding ourselves and decided to go with a casual sandwich buffet along with pasta salad, salad, a side or two and fruit, veggie and cheese platters. We are using plastic heavy duty silverware since it goes better with our buffet theme and it can be thrown away after use. Of course, i would rather have it catered and have real silverware, but i need to focus on the main thing… marrying the guy I love:) We do have a bartender that will be serving red and white wine, champagne for toasts and a mixed drink or two.
Questions I need answered from fellow Bees:
1. Would it look tacky to use real flutes for toasting only while all other silver ware is plastic?
I was thinking if we did that… i can have a champagne bottle at each table and have the bartenders go around and open the champagne for toasts? Any ideas?
2. would it be tacky to use plastic wine glasses for the drinks at the bar like the wine and mixed drinks since everything else is plastic?
3. What is the proper toasting etiquette? Do we need special glasses for each of our bridal party members? Do we have to have our toasting flutes engraved?
Thanks so much! I know… a lot of questions but are wedding is in a month, and let’s just say i’m freaking out a little and need any help I can get!
